Seoul on January 13, with temperatures dropping sharply due to early morning snowfall, not much different from Riga, the capital of Latvia. Walking on roads glistening with frozen snow from the previous day, I entered the Igan Sumun Exhibition Hall at DDP, a complex cultural space located near Dongdaemun. As my breath and the cold dissipated in the warmth of the exhibition space, the magnificent music by music director Cho Young-wuk filled the air. Slowly looking around the space, still images from director Ryoo Seung-wan’s new film “Humint” caught my eye. This special commemorative exhibition celebrating the release of “Humint” featured not only stills photographed by photographer Kim Jin-young but also photos taken personally by actor Park Jeong-min during his three-month stay in Riga, the filming location. <\/p>

Investor and distributor NEW organized this special commemorative exhibition, believing that “photographs vividly documenting the filming site, including exotic scenery and action packed with impact, will become a new channel of communication guiding prospective audiences to the film ‘Humint.'” Seoul on January 13, with temperatures dropping sharply due to early morning snowfall, not much different from Riga, the capital of Latvia. Actor Zo In-sung, leaning against a wall, makes eye contact with a somewhat playful expression. Perhaps this look comes from knowing that his colleague, actor Park Jeong-min, is holding the camera. Zo In-sung plays Chief Jo, an NIS black ops agent, while Park Jeong-min plays Park Geon, a North Korean State Security Department chief dispatched to Vladivostok, Russia. The two actors collaborated with director Ryoo Seung-wan once again following “Smugglers.” <\/p>

In Riga, actor Park Jeong-min photographed various parts of the “Humint” filming site using film and digital cameras, and director Ryoo Seung-wan, focused on directing, was also captured through his lens. How much effort did he put into this special exhibition? Investor and distributor NEW explained, “Actor Park Jeong-min went beyond simply providing photographs, checking the preparation process of the special exhibition and adding his opinions to enhance completeness, from photo retouching to artwork placement.” <\/p>
